Instructions for use

1、 Equipment installation

• 1.1 In order to adapt to various possible placement positions, we have adopted a deformable base design. Please adjust the base shape as required so that the Aimxy Z device can be placed stably at the required position, such as the top of the screen or above the screen lamp.
• 1.2 The design of the side lens is to take into account the structural occupancy of the top middle position such as the screen lamp, which leads to the problem that the lens cannot be absolutely centered.When the Aimxy Z device host is clamped into the base bracket, it can make the lens on the left or right as required.When the lens is set to the left, turn on the "flip" switch on the front page of Aimxy Z software.
• 1.3 Use the attached connecting line to connect the Aimxy Z device with the computer. In order to ensure the stable placement of the device, wrap the connecting line inserted from the side of the device back and clip it into a line card behind the base bracket, and then turn the connecting line back out to naturally sag.
• 1.4 The equipment shall be placed at a distance of not less than 40cm from the head, and too close may lead to exceeding the lens range.The Aimxy Z can work normally when it is placed 15 degrees above the front, 30 degrees below the front, and 30 degrees from the left and right sides of the head. It is not allowed to look down or squint at the head too much.It can be placed at the height of the lower edge of the screen to obtain the best effect, but it is necessary to avoid the obstruction of objects such as rocker or steering wheel to the head imaging.In case of image inching caused by blinking, in addition to turning on the AI+ switch according to the following description 2.5, press to place the device on the lower edge of the screen.
• 1.5 Start the computer, run Aimxy Z software, adjust the deformable base and hemispherical joint of the equipment, make the pitch and deflection angle of the equipment lens appropriate, and make your head image in a moderate position Please pay special attention: try to move the head to all possible positions in use to ensure that the head frame does not exceed the boundary. Once it exceeds the boundary, it will immediately lead to abnormal sensing Therefore, it is suggested to provide more space for downward displacement, that is, when sitting in a normal position, the head frame can be slightly upward relative to the central area.
• 1.6 The focal length of the lens of the factory equipment has been adjusted, but if it is found that the picture is obviously blurred, the lens can be slightly rotated for fine adjustment. Do not remove the lens. Damage to components will lead to warranty failure.
• 1.7 When wearing some glasses with strong reflection made of special materials, please turn your head up, down, left, right and move your head. If you can see the light and shadow reflected by the lens change in the image, please move the Aimxy Z device to the left or right, and turn the lens towards yourself (see 1.4 for side placement restrictions) until you can't see the continuous reflection.
• 1.8 If the head of the use position is more than one meter away from the equipment, the "zoom" slider on the home page of Aimxy Z software can be used to appropriately enlarge the head image.Please note that enlarging the image will increase the CPU usage. The Aimxy Z supports a distance of up to 3m. Properly enlarging the image and normal ambient brightness can ensure the effect of long-distance use.

2、Basic use (quick start)

• 2.1 In the "setting" menu at the upper right corner of the Aimxy Z software window, you can set whether to run automatically after startup and whether to minimize the window to the system tray.
• 2.2 Before use, you must understand or set the "center" button by yourself. In the "hot key" setting configured on the second page of Aimxy Z software, view the current default key, or set a keyboard, rocker, steering wheel and other peripheral keys by yourself.
• 2.3 Prepare for use, relax your sitting posture, look at the center of the screen, press the "back to center" button once, and when the home page of Aimxy Z software is switched to the diamond cone sensing interface with black background, the head aiming can be used normally.Double click the black background interface with the left mouse button to return to the previous image interface.At any time, it is necessary to force you to re track yourself. If you do not automatically track yourself after leaving the seat and returning, you can press the "return to center" button once.
• 2.4 Higher engine performance will lead to a lower latency experience, but requires more CPU resources and sufficient ambient brightness.By adjusting the "engine" slider on the home page of Aimxy Z software, select the gear most suitable for your computer performance and current ambient brightness.
• 2.5 The AI+ function on the homepage of Aimxy Z software is prepared for users who have limited requirements on the effect. Generally, it is not necessary to open it for normal use. It can be tried to open it with a high-performance CPU.
• 2.6 If you find that the picture is stuck after entering the game, you should appropriately increase the ambient brightness, or adjust the "engine" slider to "standard" (neutral position).
• 2.7 To adjust the head aiming response, select the appropriate default scheme in the "scheme" drop-down menu configured on the second page of Aimxy Z software.If quick adjustment is required, each axis has a quick adjustment slider in the curve window.It is required to be more sensitive and increase the sliding rod value to more than 1;Slow response is required. Reduce the sliding rod value to less than 1 and more than 0. A value of 0 means that the roller is closed, and a negative value means that the roller is reversed.
• 2.8 Meanings of each axis: yaw= turn left and right, pitch= raise your head and lower your head, roll= tilt your head left and right, x= translate left and right, y= move up and down, z= move back and forth.

3、Advanced use (various functions of Aimxy Z software configuration page)

• 3.1 Game: it can automatically load the specified scheme for different games or software after running, and the default is global configuration.Find the main executable file of the game or software on the machine through the file manager, or input the correct executable file name (only the executable file name needs to be filled in, not the path of the complete executable file).

• 3.2 Scheme: refers to the globally configured or currently selected game or software association scheme.The selected scheme will be loaded automatically after the game or software is running.You can create new schemes or delete other custom schemes.The following settings will be automatically saved to the current scheme.

• 3.3 Rotation and displacement: the higher the smoothness, the softer the picture motion will be, but the delay will increase;The higher the stability, the better the static stability effect of the picture, but the follow-up effect will decline;The default smoothing and stabilization settings should meet most requirements.

• 3.4 Hot key: which is the shortcut key function of Aimxy Z software. It can customize the keyboard, rocker, steering wheel and other peripheral keys.

  • 3.4.1 During centering, click or hold, and the screen will be forced to centering.
  • 3.4.2 Aim, press and hold to lock the current picture, and the head can turn back to the front comfortably. Release the button to move the picture into 1:1 mode. When the direction or pitch angle of the head is large, the picture will turn along with the direction of the head. The greater the turning range, the faster the speed will be, and the omnidirectional observation at a controllable speed will be achieved. The return and pause operation will exit the aiming mode.
  • 3.4.3 Increase stability. After clicking, the screen motion will enter a more stable mode. Click release again.
  • 3.4.4 Pause. After clicking, the screen will be fixed. Click Cancel again.
  • 3.4.5 Sleep, after clicking, all output data will be reset to zero, and the device will sleep, click again to resume.
  • 3.4.6 Aim-Center (A-C), one button has two functions: aiming and returning to center. Press and hold=lock the current screen, the head can be turned back to the front, release the key=1:1 mode, press and hold and then click=back to the center
  • 3.4.7 When CSP is stopped stably, one key has three functions: returning to center, increasing stability and pausing. Click = return to center, hold down = increase stability, hold down and click again = pause, resume from pause = hold down
  • 3.4.8 Seat three-axis adjustment buttons. In some scenarios, the default viewpoint position may be uncomfortable in height, left and right, front and back. These three groups of six buttons can be used for adjustment.
  • 3.4.9 Seat switch (memory seat) Click = turn the seat adjustment function on or off, long press for more than 3 seconds = clear the memory

• 3.5 Interface, providing corresponding data interfaces for various games and software, and more options will be added in the future.

  • 3.5.1 FSX/P3D plug-in interface support and configuration.

• 3.6 Vector displacement: after this function is enabled, the front of the displacement coordinate system will change with the current visual direction in real time, which is in line with the habits of most people. It is recommended to enable it.

• 3.7 Curve, all axes can customize the response curve.Double click the left mouse button to add curve keys, and click the right mouse button to delete points.The abscissa x is the actual angle or distance of head rotation or displacement, the ordinate y is the output data set, and the real-time moving ball is the current sensing value.

  • 3.7.1 Refer to item 7 of 2、Foundation use above for the description of quick adjusting sliding rod.
  • 3.7.2 For symmetrical point selection, the positive and negative values of the axis are output as the same curve.
  • 3.7.3 Asymmetric point selection: the positive value of the axis is output by using the previous page symmetric mode curve, and the negative value is output by using the current page curve.
  • 3.7.4 Measuring range: preset the upper limit value of actual head rotation and displacement to facilitate curve editing.

1. Design goals

The design goal of ZMouse is: based on the AimxyZ head aiming system, to provide an easy-to-operate, high-precision, full-featured head-controlled mouse function for people whose head can move normally but whose hands cannot be used, or who have cervical spine problems. We hope that our efforts can help more people, so that they can start a life full of hope.

2. Working principle

• 2.1. Obtain the motion data of the user's head relative to the computer screen through the AimxyZ head aiming system.
• 2.2. The user operates the mouse cursor to move and realize standard button and scroll wheel functions through small head movements.

3. Operation Introduction

• 3.1. The function of ZMouse to control the movement of the cursor has two modes: "Glide" and "Precision". According to the software settings, for example, if the head turns within 10 degrees relative to the screen, it is a "Precision", and if it is more than 10 degrees, it is a "Glide". In the micro-motion range, the head can control the horizontal movement of the cursor by turning the head left and right, and the vertical movement of the cursor by turning the head up and down with extremely high precision. After the head exceeds the inching range, the cursor enters the sliding mode. As the head rotation angle increases, the sliding speed will become faster and faster until the upper limit is set.
• 3.2. ZMouse has three working states: "Motion mode", "Lockon mode" and "Repose mode". When the cursor stays somewhere on the screen for a short while, the cursor will change from moving to locked. In the locked state, you can turn your head up, down, left, right, and up and down in a small range and elegantly, and you can realize up to 6 functions of the mouse button, of which 5 functions can be selected by turning the head in 4 directions. If there is no operation within 5 seconds in the locked state, the ZMouse will enter the "rest" state, and all key functions will be stopped. To unlock the cursor and put it back into motion, just shake your head once from side to side.
• 3.3. At any time, regardless of the state and position of the cursor, gently shake your head left and right 3 times and then look at the center of the screen, the cursor will automatically return to the center of the screen.

4. Interface description

• 4.1. Cursor Lock: the dwell time required for the cursor to become locked, 0.5-1 second.
• 4.2. Mouse Wheel: Tilt the head left and right to trigger the inclination angle of the mouse wheel, 8-12 degrees.
• 4.3. Glide Range: Set the deflection angle of the head relative to the screen, and adjust the Glide range, 5-15 degrees.
• 4.4. Glide Speed: the maximum speed of sliding movement, grade 1-6.
• 4.5. Precision Range: Set the deflection angle of the head relative to the screen, and adjust the Precision range, 5-15 degrees.
• 4.6. Screen Fit: If the head angle exceeds 10 degrees at the edge of the screen, you should set an appropriate angle increase value, 0-45 degrees.
• 4.7. Mouse Buttons: Set the mouse button functions corresponding to the 4 head turning directions when the cursor is locked, and the exchange of the corresponding functions of shaking the head left and right and nodding up and down, and the exchange of turning the head left and right corresponding to the direction of the mouse wheel.
• 4.8. Default Setting: In the middle of the 4 arrow marks, there is a "DEFAULT" text button. After clicking and confirming, all the settings on the ZMouse interface will be restored to default.

5. Startup Settings
